Hello, everybody!

We arrived in the Azores a few days ago.
On the way we saw a lot of dolphins.
Too bad we didn't catch any fish.
While sailing Marinthe and I played a lot with the lego.
And we made a lot of ministeck.
Like a big sailing ship with white sails.
We're working on the Titanic now.
But it's far from finished.
When we were almost there we saw sperm whales.
That's a whale species.
They were about as long as our boat.
Really cool!
We are now in the harbour, together with the Barbarossa and the Valentine.
The herring gull left a few days ago.
That's also a Dutch boat.
Yesterday we walked on Piko.
That's the name of an island nearby.
That's where we took the ferry.
We rented a car on the island.
That's how we explored the island.
Then we went to eat at a restaurant.
There we had seen that you could take a boat out to sea to look at whales.
We did.
Before we boarded the boat we had to put on a raincoat and a life jacket.
Once in the boat it was pretty cold.
The boat was going really fast!
Approximately 50 km per hour.
We've seen a lot of whales.
And we got a lot of information about it.
Like: if whales go gracefully into the water with their tails it means that the whale will dive.
Then he dives about 3 km down to hunt for a giant squid and eats it downstairs.
And when a baby whale hits the water with its tail, it calls its mother.
There was a Dutch man in the boat.
That was convenient for Marinthe and me.
Cause we're not very good english.
Suddenly we were so far away from the country that we couldn't see it anymore.
That was pretty exciting.
At nine o'clock we went back by ferry.
The next day we watched football.
Fortunately, the Netherlands has won.
We're having a great time here.
But I miss you guys.
Luckily we're almost home.
So I can see you again soon.

    Dear Eline,

I miss you so much. I'm really glad you're almost coming home. Did you find playing soccer so exciting? I got to watch the games even though I had to go to school the next day.
At school we had made an agreement that whoever predicted the good results would get the candy jar. I shared the candy jar with 7 other children.
We had sports day yesterday. That was a lot of fun. You could jump high, long jump, throw bullets, run and throw a bicycle tire.
Next year we'll be in Mr. Pieter's class. Do you remember him?
You are now near the Azores and almost in the netherlands. You've seen a lot of dolphins. I'd like to watch them at sea and swim. I like that island of Piko too. You've seen a big whale there as big as your boat.
I wish I could be there with all those adventures. I'm really looking forward to seeing you again.

    Greetings Amber

    Dear Eline and Marinthe,

I enjoyed your stories and photo's! And you're really great, because you would have gotten a super good report! But I think your teacher was also a super teacher! Enjoy the last real holiday weeks!
Eline, Mr. Pieter is still in his old classroom. Marinthe, Miss Annica and Miss Bregje are also somewhere upstairs in red but I'm not quite sure about that. The Bijsterveldenlaan is coming all the way to the red building, so also the groups 8!
It's so hot at school that you can hardly learn anymore...
Have a great time and I hope to see you soon when school starts again!
