A new meter cupboard

Another project on which Toine will spend a lot of time in the winter of 2016/2017 is the renewal of the 'meter cupboard'. A boat is a rather complex whole with a 220v, 24v and 12v electricity system. The 220v system consists of the shore power, which supplies the boat with 220v via a number of fuses and earth leakage switches. But we also have an inverter that turns the 12v/24v battery power into 220v power. And a generator that generates 220v on its own. All these sources have to be switched depending on the situation. By installing a Mastervolt System switch, this switching will now take place automatically. Depending on the source, the System-switch switches the current. Practical and somewhat easier to use.

In addition, we replace the monitoring system of the 24v battery consumption (i.e. everything used in the boat runs on 24v). So that we have a better picture of the consumption and the still available battery capacity. This also makes troubleshooting easier. We use the Mastervolt Easy 5 system for this, in combination with a new shunt (a device that measures how much power goes in and out of the batteries).
