The most important part of the refit in Sweden is the conversion of the aft cabin to a center bed layout. We had the model with three beds and a bench in between. We wanted the layout with a center bed. With living aboard we see the following advantages:
- Both can get in and out of bed easily without having to climb on top of each other 😃.
- Both next to the bed space for iPhone and iPad 😎.
- Possibility for a good workplace for Mira on the starboard side.
- More storage space instead of an extra bed that we don't need.
- Now that we see the result like this we find it certainly more functional but also more beautiful 😊😊.
We think it's important that this renovation is 'Hallberg-Rassy'-worthy. We are therefore very happy that we were able to order the materials from Hallberg-Rassy and that Kjell did the renovation. Kjell has been working at Hallberg-Rassy for more than 30 years and has assembled many aft cabins, also on HR48's 😃👍. By the way, it was only because of adjusted working hours by corona that Kjell had time to work for us for a part of the week, in addition to regular weekends.
The renovation takes about 140 hours of Kjell in total, spread over 7 weeks.
