By switching to a layout with a centre bed in the aft cabin, there will be the possibility of a good working place for Mira on the starboard side. This is important now that we are going to live on the boat for a longer period of time and work at home a lot because of Corona.
The base is the standard Hallberg-Rassy make-up table and the bench next to the bed. With the following adjustments to make it a comfortable place to work:
- Table height is a bit lower than standard and therefore the table comes a bit further inwards (because the boat runs down on the outside round off to the inside).
- The bench is not round but straight to the outside wall.
- Under the table is a step of 10 cm high.
- Two sockets and two network cables on the right side of the table.
- Large screen attached to the wall which is linked to the MacMini in the next cabinet and to my work laptop.
In the make-up (and now worktable) is a storage compartment with a flap lid where the laptop and other work accessories can be stored.
